about

Emerging from Southend in the primordial soup era of 2005 and now spread across three counties, DIY rabble-rousers Fashoda Crisis have been venting their spleens at the state of society and popular culture ever since. Along the way, they have picked up a small (but loyal) following of right-thinking people who are quite happy to hear a man (who is more than old enough to know better) ranting about wearing the skin of Vernon Kay to a backdrop of furious feedback-drenched guitar, pulsating bass and pounding drums. They have toured Europe extensively - including a tour of Ukraine in 2011 that has forever etched that beautiful country into their hearts. Their debut album, Mischief of One Kind and Another was re-released as a special edition mini-CD by independent Kyiv label Alien Hand Records and they have left their DNA on stages in Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Dneprotovsk and Chernihiv. Seeing many of those cities under siege now is unbearable.

Steeped in blood, sweat and viscera, their discography includes 'Sunday Night Quiet Club e.p' (2021), ‘Almost Everyone is Entirely Average at Almost Everything’ (2015), ‘The Jowls of Justice’ (2013), ‘Him Make They Learn Read’ (2011) and ‘Mischief of One Kind and Another’ (2009). Many of which managed to wangle their way on to album of the year lists for the likes of Echoes & Dust and Sweeping the Nation.

Fashoda Crisis love you. But would never cheapen the sentiment by saying so to your face
